CORRODED ALLOY WHEEL

Corroded Alloy Wheel Repair.

Wheel Corrosion is usually caused by one of the following factors…

  • Use of acidic cleaning products on your wheels can start the wheel corrosion as well as make the existing corrosion even worse. These acidic cleaners tend to damage the protective layer thus exposing the wheel to damage from surface debris and weather.
  • Disc brake dust is one of the biggest reason for wheel corrosion. When we press brake paddle it generates particles which leave marks on the Alloy Wheels. If you don’t remove them on a weekly basis then overtime with the combination of moisture and road grime it starts to cause corrosion on alloy wheels.
  • When you hit a kerb or pothole, it removes the protective layer from your alloy wheel, thus leaving your wheel exposed to the process of oxidation. Oxidation starts when the water reacts with the air on the unprotective wheel surfaces starting the process of corrosion.

Book your car with Tyre Bay Alloy Wheel Corrosion Repair experts and they will restore your wheel to its original form.

WHEEL

Is it my Wheel or Tyre?.

If your car tyre is losing pressure on a regular basis and even upon checking your tyres for puncture there is no sign of puncture then it could be due to the bead corrosion.

Over the period of time corrosion cause the tyre pressure to reduce due to the escape of air from the edges of the wheel bead. Therefore, if it is not repaired by professional alloy wheel repair experts then you could end up with a flat tyre on a wet and windy day/night.

To avoid this inconvenience book your alloy wheel bead corrosion repair at Tyre Bay.
